Blueyes Below

Researchers believe that over 6,000 shipwrecks lie beneath the waves of the Great Lakes. These waterways were once the “highways” of the Midwest. Far too often ships would leave port never to return.

Blueyes Below is actively working to rediscover these lost ships and document the shipwreck sites with high-quality photography and video. The intent, always, is to share what is found with anyone who wishes to see it.

By diving and using a state-of-the-art ROV, Blueyes Below will become your eyes underwater, allowing you to see and explore these shipwrecks, too. Along the way you can learn about the equipment we use, and a bit more about diving shipwrecks in the Great Lakes.

Great Lakes Shipwrecks

Here are a few Blueyes Below favorite videos and photos from past expeditions to a few Great Lakes shipwrecks.  There is so much more to see that I would like to share with you.  Exploring these shipwrecks and then bringing back images to share truly is my passion.

Welcome to Blueyes Below

I’m Dusty Klifman and I’d like to welcome you to Blueyes Below.  It is my passion to discover and explore lost ships in the Great Lakes.  I believe it is important to document the wrecks below so that the images and stories can be shared with the public, whether they dive or not.

I am also an experienced recovery diver, charter captain, ROV operator and drone pilot. I’ve even set up a little biography page if you’d like to learn more about me
